Best Brunch in Bermondsey from Garrison Public House

Galleries in London can often be overpriced and overrated, so when I went to the White Cube in Bermondsey I was pleasantly surprised. But, I’m not here to talk about galleries. I’m here to talk about food.

Bermondsey street is littered with stunning coffee shops, quaint pubs and fantastic restaurants. Every building you walk by is stood proudly waiting to have its picture taken. Even on a cloudy, wintery day, the street looked more handsome than Leo Dicaprio when he had floppy hair.

The bottle green tiles of the Garrison pub really caught my eye and their reasonably priced brunch menu got me straight through the door.

Somehow, the best seat in the house wasn’t taken. I parked right up beneath this chap in a funny wig and pulled out my laptop (they’ve free wifi you know).

The avocado on sourdough toast was one of the best I’ve ever had and the poached eggs were cooked to perfection. The smashed avocado was loaded onto the crusty bread and the tiny hint of chilli was just enough to add a complex flavour without too much heat.

You can dress up to go here. There are many people on business lunches and meeting clients, giving a nice air to the place. I wouldn’t turn up in a tracksuit and trainers, but then again a ball gown would be just as out of place.

I went for a star print blouse I’ve recently purchased from Topshop. Anything with a print and lots of frills – I’m sold.

You simply can’t get me out of denim these days so obviously, the kick flares and orange boots were on the bottom. I do have some new shoes and denim in the post, I swear I’ll start to shake it up a bit. Pinky promise.

Until next time, peace and kisses
