Some cravings just ain’t gonna go away on their own, they just need to be tackled. You need to nip them in the bud and then we can all go on with the rest of our lives.
For a while now (since I had it in Manchester that time), I’ve been craving chicken and waffles. I guess this is a classic case of wanting what you shouldn’t want – like that bad boy in the grey tracksuit that hangs out on the corner of Walworth Road smoking. So, in order to deal with this notch on my bedpost, I took myself to Bird.
Their chicken is all free range and they do an early bird menu, everything for £8, so it’s easy on the pocket as well as the conscience – whoop.
I went for the chicken-waffle-burger (From the early bird menu) which is half the size of the regular one. I can’t even imagine what the big one looks like.
The waffle burger was everything I needed it to be and more.It had that perfect balance of sweet and savoury with spicy sauce, crispy chicken, cheese and bacon hugged between two fluffy waffles.
I accidently matched the Bird colour scheme, I looked like I was doing some sort of company PR – but hey, ho, sometimes it’s just how it goes. My pants were wide-legged and orange. Sometimes, these make me feel great and sometimes I hate them. I’m into the 70s vibe they give off, but I also feel like I’m part of an episode of Scooby-Doo and I’m afraid of ghosts, sooooo….
I wore them with my embroidered top to kick off that vintage boho vibe. If you’re going to do it, you may as well do it properly I guess. The embroidery on this top is beautiful and matches the trousers really well with the yellow/orange detail in it.
I did get a few compliments on the outfit, so maybe they are a hit. Or, maybe I should hide them in the back of my wardrobe, never to be seen again. Thoughts?
Until next time, peace and kisses
